In 2048, slide matching numbers together to create larger tiles and work toward a 2048 tile. An arrow key moves the whole board, not just one piece. Before you move, look along the entire row or column and imagine where each tile will land.
Leave room for your next move
Here is a practice idea from AXPlay, not a guaranteed winning formula from the game’s creator: try keeping larger tiles along the same edge while combining smaller numbers nearby. A move that produces a large number but leaves the board crowded may be less useful than one that opens up space. When the board gets messy, look for merges that give you room to work.
Practice one habit per game
In your first game, pause before each move and predict the result. In the next, try keeping large numbers close together. After another round, look back at the move that made the board feel cramped. Reaching 2048 does not need to be the goal of every session. Being able to explain your choices is a useful step beyond pressing directions at random.
