Websites can store data on your device
Browsers provide storage that websites can use to remember information. With Web Storage, localStorage can persist after you close and reopen the browser, while sessionStorage is tied to a page session. Each game chooses its own saving method, though. The existence of browser storage does not mean every game saves progress automatically.
A different browser can mean a different save
Website storage is separated by origin. Do not expect a local record to appear automatically on a different device, in another browser or at a different game origin. AXPlay’s recently played list helps you find a game again; it does not confirm that the game’s levels or scores have been synced to the cloud.
Private windows are for temporary sessions
MDN explains that local storage used in private browsing is deleted when the corresponding private session ends. If you want to return to a game over several days, use a consistent normal browser environment and check whether the game explicitly offers account sync or save export. A private window is not a dependable place for long-term progress.
Check before clearing data
Clearing website data can remove locally stored game records. When troubleshooting, start with steps that leave data intact, such as reopening the page. If the game offers cloud sync or an export feature, follow its instructions and confirm that saving succeeded. A screenshot can record your score, but it cannot restore a playable save file.
